Red Gram Powder / Kandi Podi

 

 

Ingredients

1 cup Red Gram / Tuar Dal
1/2 cup Bengal Gram / Channa Dal
1/2 cup Green Gram / Moong Dal
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeera
1/4 tsp  Asafoetida / Hing
1/2 tsp Salt
6 Red Chillies
 
  1. Heat a pan fry Tuar Dal and Channa Dal together till golden brown.
  2. Take it onto a plate and let it cool. In the pan fry Moong Dal and Cumin Seeds till golden brown.Add Red Chilles and just fry for a min. Take it onto to another plate and let this cool.
  3. Now grind Moong Dal, Cumin Seeds and Red Chilli to a coarse powder. Add fried Tuar Dal, Channa Dal.
  4. Grind again till it becomes coarse powder and then add salt. Now grind it till fine powder.
  5. Eat with Rice /  Idli / Dosa.
