Spinach Stew / Bachali Koora Pulusu

 
 

Ingredients

1 1/2 Cup Cut Spinach
2 Green Chillies
2 Red Chillies
1/2 tsp Tumeric Powder
1 tsp Sambar Powder
1 1/4 tsp Salt
2 tsp Rice
1 tsp Mustard / Sarson
2 Cups Water
1 tsp Sugar

Tempering
2 tsp Oil
10 Curry Leaves
1 tsp Bengal Gram / Channa Dal
1 tsp Black Gram / Urad Dal
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeera
1/2 tsp Mustard / Sarson
pinch of Hing
  1. Take water in a big Vessel. Put Cut Spinach in it and let it boil .
  2. Mean while, soak Rice and a tsp of Mustard in water for 20 mins. Remove water grind it with Red Chillies to a smooth paste. Add just 2-3 tsp of water while grinding.
  3. Add this paste to boiling Spinach. Add green Chillies, Salt, Turmeric Powder, Sambar Powder to it and continue boiling.
  4. Heat a small pan with Oil and add all items in the tempering list.Fry till Dals turn golden brown. Add this to Spinach Stew. Add Sugar and mix it.
  5. Not our favorite !!! But will eat because Spinach is good for health.
