Simple South Indian recipe with baby potatoes. I often make this at home. This delicious and easy to make side dish with sambar or rasam makes a simple South Indian lunch.
Ingredients
30 Baby Potatoes / Small Potatoes
3 teaspoons Red Chilli Powder
3 teaspoons Dhania Powder
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
Salt as needed
1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
1/2 teaspoon Jeera / Cumin Seeds
1 Sprig Curry Leaves
3 teaspoons Oil
1/4 cup Water
- Boil bay potatoes with skin for 3 whistles in a pressure cooker. Discard water, remove the skin and let it cool. Mix all the powders and salt.
- Heat a pan with oil, add mustard and cumin seeds. Reduce the flame to medium, add curry leaves and powder mix. Saute for a minute, add boiled, peeled potatoes.
- Mix it well, cook for 5 minutes, sauteing in between. Add water. When the water is absorbed completely and when the oil comes out the curry is ready.
- Have it with rice or rotis.
